so, let numbers be

xx and x+1

now according to the equation

(x)(x + 1) = (x)+(x + 1) +155

x^{2} + x = 2x + 156

x^{2} - x - 156 = 0

x^{2} - 13x + 12x - 156 = 0

x(x - 13) + 12(x - 13)

(x + 12)(x - 13)

so, the numbers are

-12, -11 or 13, 14

The consecutive numbers are 13 and 14.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the consecutive numbers be x and x+1

According to question, we get that

x(x+1)-(x+x+1)=155\\\\x^2+x-2x-1=155\\\\x^2-x=155+1\\\\x^2-x-156=0\\\\x^2-13x+12x-156=0\\\\x(x-13)+12(x-13)=0\\\\(x-13)(x+12)=0\\\\x=13,-12

So, the consecutive numbers are 13 and 14.
