Given:-

  • Ratio's of two adjacent sides of rectangle is 5:7.
  • Perimeter of rectangle is 72 cm.

To find:-

  • Length of its all sides.

SolutioN:-

Let,

The adjacent sides of triangle be 5x and 7x.

Length = 7x

Breadth = 5x

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

In which,

  • l is length of rectangle.
  • b is breadth of rectangle.

Perimeter of rectangle = 72 cm.

So,

⇒ 72 = 2 × (7x + 5x)

⇒ 72 = 14x + 10x

⇒ 72 = 24x

⇒ 72/24 = x

3 = x

Or, x = 3

Length = 7x = 7×3 = 21 cm.

Breadth = 5x = 5×3= 15 cm.

  • We know that, Opposite sides of rectangle are equal. So,

Side opposite to 21 cm is also 21 cm beacuse opposite sides of rectangle are equal.

Similarly,

Side opposite to 15 cm is also 15 cm.

Therefore,

First side of rectangle is 21 cm.

Second side of rectangle is 15 cm.

Third side of rectangle is 21 cm.

Fourth side of rectangle is 15 cm.
