Different forms of power sharing in modern democracies are as follows :

  1. Horizontal distribution of power : In this power is shared among various organs of the government and each organs have to exercise different duties. e.g., => Legislative , executive & judiciary. Legislative makes the laws ; Executive implement or pa ss the laws and judiciary punishes for violating the laws.
  2. Federal form of government : In this power is shared among government at various levels.e.g.,=> Central government,state government & local government ( e.g., panchayati raj system etc )
  3. Community government: Power is shared among different sections of the community (society) such as religions and linguistic groups such as Belgium .
  4. Power sharing among different religions, political parties and pressure groups etc.
