Step-by-step explanation:

x+y=11

x=11-y

now,xy=18

(11-y)y=18

11y-y^2=18

-y^2+11y-18=0

-(y^2-11y+18)=0

y^2-11y+18=0

y^2-9y-2y+18=0

y(y-9)-2(y-9)=0

(y-2)(y-9)=0

y=2 ,y=9

so, x=11-y

x=11-2,11-9

x=9,2

therefore, x-y=9-2,9-9

=7,0

hope it will help u...

Given :  x+y = 11

xy =18

To Find :  x-y

Solution:

(x - y)²  = (x + y)² - 4xy

=> (x - y)²  = 11² - 4(18)

=> (x - y)² = 121 - 72

=> (x - y)²  =  49

=> x - y = ± 7

x-y is ± 7
