let the initial no. of students be n
1 student = 300/n apples
no. of students afterward=300/n+10
each student will get 1 apple less the before so.
300/n-300/n+1=1
equation will be
n2+10n-3000=0
(n-50)(n+60)=0
n=-60 & n=50
Since, -60 is not considered therefore,n=50
Hence,no. of students in the beginning = 50

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the initial no. of students be n

1 student = 300/n apples

no. of students afterward=300/n+10

each student will get 1 apple less the before so.

300/n-300/n+1=1

equation will be

n2+10n-3000=0

(n-50)(n+60)=0

n=-60 & n=50

Since, -60 is not considered therefore,n=50

Hence,no. of students in the beginning = 50
