Answer : The mass ℅ w/w of final solution is, 36.25 %

Explanation :

First we have to calculate the mass of solute.

As per to question,

300 g of 25% solution contains solute = \frac{(300\times 30)}{100}=90g

And,

500 g of 40% solution contains solute = \frac{(500\times 40)}{100}=200g

Total mass of solute = 90 + 200 = 290 g

The total mass of solution = 300 + 500 = 800 g

Now we have to calculate the mass ℅ w/w of final solution.

\text{Mass }\%\text{ of final solution}=\frac{\text{Mass of solute}}{\text{Mass of solution}}\times 100

\text{Mass }\%\text{ of final solution}=\frac{290g}{800g}\times 100=36.25\%

Therefore, the mass ℅ w/w of final solution is, 36.25 %
