Given:

Length of the rectangular plot = 40 m

Breadth of the rectangular plot = 15 m

Front space and back space = 3 m

Side space = 2 m

To Find:

The largest area of the house

Solution:

Find the largest length of the house possible:

Length = 40 - 3 - 3

Length = 34 m

Find the largest breadth of the house possible:

Breadth = 15 - 2 - 2

Breadth = 11 m

Find the largest possible area of the house:

Area = Length x Breadth

Area = 34 x 11

Area = 374 m²

Answer: The largest possible area of the house is 374 m².
