A teacher from this school is chosen at random. Find the probability that the age of the

selected teacher is :

a) 23 years or more

b) between 30 and 43 (including both)

a) 23 years or more :-

According to the question, age of all the teachers are 23 or above.

So, favourable outcomes = 11 + 32 + 30 + 7

Favourable outcomes = 80

Total outcomes = 80

Probability = favourable outcomes / Total outcomes

= 80 / 80

= 1

Probability = 1

b) Between 30 and 43 :-

Number of teachers between 30 and 43 = 32 + 30

Favourable outcomes = 62

Favourable outcomes = 62Total outcomes = 80

Probability = 62 / 80

= 31 / 40

Probability = 31 / 40

c) Above 37 years :-

Teachers having age greater than 37 years = 30 + 7

Favourable outcomes = 37

Total outcomes = 80

Probability = 37 / 80
