Answer:- 6.8 cc.

Solution:- From Graham's law of diffusion rates, " Rate of diffusion of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of it's molar mass."

\frac{r_1}{r_2}=\sqrt{\frac{M_2}{M_1}}

rate of effusion is the volume of the gas effused in a unit time. So, let's replace rate by \frac{volume}{time} . The formula could also be written as:

\frac{\frac{v_1}{t_1}}{\frac{v_2}{t_2}}=\sqrt{\frac{M_2}{M_1}}

Time of effusion is same for both the gases. So, the formula becomes:

\frac{v_1}{v_2}=\sqrt{\frac{M_2}{M_1}}

Molar mass of hydrogen is 2 gram per mol and 44 gram per mol for carbon dioxide. Let's plug in the values in the above formula:

\frac{32cc}{v_2}=\sqrt{\frac{44}{2}}

\frac{32cc}{v_2}=4.69

v_2=\frac{32cc}{4.69}

v_2 = 6.8cc

So, in one minute, 6.8 cc of carbon dioxide would be effused.
