Answer:

because of the fusion of two gamete cell

a simple body cell contains 2n chromosomes and a gamete cell contains n chromosomes

so the female gamete cell is xx

the male gamete cell is xy

this decides the gender of the offspring of it is xx it is a female or xy then male as because when the parents were born the received few heriditary features from their grandfather and few from grandmother but when the parents reproduce their heriditary features are further divided to receive heriditary features from the grandparents of the Father and the heriditary features from the grandparents of the mother

so the child will receive very less heriditary features from any one grandparent so children resemble more of their parents than their grandparents
