Solution:-

$→ x + y = 5 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: eq..(1)$

$→2x - y = 4 \: \: \: \: \: \: eq..(2)$

from eq 1

$→x = 5 - y \: \: \: \: \: \: \: eq..(3)$

putting this value in eq 2

$→2(5 - y) - y = 4$

$→10 - 2y - y = 4$

$→ - 3y = 4 - 10$

$→y = \frac{ -6}{ - 3}$

$→y = 2$

putting this value in eq (3) we get.

$→x = 5 - 2$

$→x = 3$
