Parallels of latitude have equal distance of 111 kilometre between them while the distance between two longitude varies.

\sf{\underline{This\:is\:because:}}

In each successive latitudes, the distance remains same or constant.

Because of this reason, they are called parallels of latitudes.

\sf{\underline{Let\:us\:take\:an\:example:}}

The distance between 0° latitude that is equator and 1° North-South is 111 km.

When we take other successive latitudes, same happens.
