Step-by-step explanation:

let us assume the contrary that 5-√3 is a rational number

then 5-√3=a/b

-√3=a/b+5/1

-√3= a+5b/b

since ,a+5b/b is in the form of p/q so it is a rational number and a rational number is always equal to a rational number so -√3 is also a rational number but -√3 is an irrational number so our contradiction has arisen because of our incorrect assumption that 5-√3 is a rational number

Hence 5-√3 is an irrational number proved
