Given:

33x + 12y = 123

12x + 33y = 102

Let's use elimination method to solve these equations.

let us eliminate X so the l.c.m of coefficients of X is 396

multiply eq:1 with 12 and eq:2 with 33

12(33x + 12y = 123)

33(12x + 33y = 102)

396x + 144y = 1476 \: eq(3)

396x + 1089 = 3366  \: eq(4)

from 3 and 4 equations we get

 - 945y =  - 1890

the( - ) gets cancelled so

945y = 1890

y = 1890 \div 945

y = 2

substitute y= 2 in eq 1 we get the X value
