Given:-

  • Mass of Ball (m)= 200g =200/1000=0.2kg

  • Velocity of ball (v) = 20m/s

To Find:-

  • Maximum potential energy it gains as it goes up.

Solution:-

According to the given Question

As we know that Conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created or nor be destroyed .It can only be changed from one from to another. So,

⟹ Kinetic energy = Potential Energy

⟹ K.E = 1/2 ×mv²

putting all the values which is given above

⟹ P.E.= 1/2 × 0.2 × 20²

⟹ P.E. = 1/2 × 0.2 × 200

⟹ P.E = 40J

∴ Maximum potential energy it gains as it goes up is 40J.

Additional Information!!

✧ The energy of an object because of its position or shape is called its potential energy .

✧ SI unit is Joule.

✧ The potential energy due to height above the earth's surface is called gravitational potential energy .

✧ Mathematical term

P.E = mgh
