Let distance covered towards east be represented by positive integer and distance covered towards west be represented by negetive integer.

Total distance covered by car = 100 + 25 = 125

displacement covered = 100 + (-25) = 100 - 25 = 75m

Distance covered by car is 125 and displacement is75 m which is positive integer i.e. car in East direction
