34. An electric iron is connected to the mains power supply of 220 V. When the electric iron is adjusted at
'minimum heating' it consumes a power of 360 W but at 'maximum heating' it takes a power of 840 W.
Calculate the current and resistance in each case.

CASE 1

p=360w

∵p=VI

VI=360

220*I=360

I=360/220

I=1.63A

also p=V^2/R

      V^2/R=360

R=220*220/360

R=134.4Ω

CASE 2

P=840W

VI=840

I=840/220

I=3.81A

also P=V^2/R

   R=220*220/840

R=57.6Ω
