Given - Mass of ascorbic acid - 35 gram

Mass of carbon in given sample - 15 gram

Mass of carbon in another sample - 42.9%

Find - To show law of constant composition.

Solution - Law of constant composition also known as Proust's law, states that chemical elements are always present in fixed ratio, irrespective of source of compound.

Percentage of carbon in given sample is - 15/35*100

Percentage of carbon in given sample is - 42.85% = 42.9%

Since, percentage of carbon in both the samples is same, hence, law of constant composition is followed here.
