Step-by-step explanation:

If X = a , y = b is the solution of equations

x -y = 2 , X+y = 4

Then value of a = 3, b = 1

Putting the value of X and y in both equations

a+b = 4 eq. 1

a-b = 2. eq 2

Substracting both equations

a+b -( a-b ) = 4-2

a+b -a +b = 2

2b = 2

b = 2/2 = 1.

Putting the value of b in equation 2nd

a-1 = 2

a = 2+1

a = 3

b = 1

Hope it may help you

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We know y=a and x=b

X-y=2......

X+y=4....

Therefore by adding both the equation we get

X-y =2

+ x+y =4

2x=6

×=3
