Answer:

(1) Linear – The motion of a body when it travels in a straight path without changing directions is called linear motion.

Example: A car moving on a straight road.

(2) Rotary – The motion of a body when it spins on a fixed solid or imaginary axis of its own is called rotary motion.

Example: A planet rotating on its axis.

(3) Oscillating – The motion of a body when it moves to and fro a specific point, similar to vibrating, is called oscillating motion.

Example: Air molecules vibrating on production of a sound.

(4) Reciprocating – The motion of a body when it constantly moves up and down or to and fro in a linear motion, similar to a merger of linear and oscillating motion, is called reciprocating motion.

Example: Seen in complex machines.

Hope it helps :)

Explanation:

Four types of motion-

1. Linear motion- in this type of motion body moves in a straight line. eg- rectilinear propagation of light

2. Curvilinear motion- in this type of motion body moves in a curved path. e.g.- car taking turns at lanes

3. Rotatory motion- In rotatory motion the object rotates about a fixed axis. eg- top spinning

4. Periodic motion- This motion takes place at regular intervals of time. eg- motion of pendulum
