352 mL of chlorine under a pressure of 680 mm Hg are placed in a container under a pressure of 1210 mm Hg. The temperature remains constant at 296K. What is the volume of the containers in liters​

Volume of chlorine, V1 = 352 mL

To Find:

Volume of container, V2

Calculation:

- As temperature is constant, Boyle's law will be used here as follows:

P1V1 = P2V2

⇒ V2 = P1V1/P2

⇒ V2 =  680 × 352 / 1210

V2 = 197.82 mL

- So the volume of container is 197.82 mL.
