Given ,

36: 10 : : 27?

let the fourth term is x

36 : 10 : : 27 : x

36 and x = Extreme Terms

10 and 27 = Middle Terms

Finding the value of 'x' ?

36 : 10 : : 27 : x

36×X = 10×27

36X = 270

X = 270/36

X=7.5 Ans

The fourth term = 7.5

Answer:

15

Step-by-step explanation:

It is a question of ratio

according to the rules of the ratio is 4 quantities re in a ratio such that

a:b :: c : d

then

a :b = c : d

or it is equal to

a/b = c /d

Now in the given question let the fourth term to be found is x

then

36 : 10 :: 27 : x

then according to the rule explained above is

36:10 = 27 : x

or  it can be written as

36/10 = 27 / x

cross multiplying gives

36 * x = 27 * 10

36 x = 270

x = 270 / 36

x = 7.5

which is the fourth root of given question

Now the given becomes

36 : 10 :: 27 : 7.5

Now it is against the rule of the ratio that we can multiply all the values with a same constant then it would not effect the ratio so multiplying all values with 2

it gives us

36 * 2 : 10 *2  :: 27 * 2 : 7.5 * 2

or

72 : 20 :: 54 : 15

so the answer required is 15
