36. (a) By the words “malleable” and “ductile” we mean that metals can be drawn into thin sheets and wires respectively without breaking them.
For Example :-
- Silver is a metal that is drawn into thin sheets and then used on Sweets for decoration.
- Copper is a metal that is drawn into thin wire for conducting electricity.
(b) Gold and Silver are the two metals which are both malleable and ductile.
(c) The property of “malleability” of Iron is used to draw Iron (Fe) into thin sheets used for making buckets.
(d) The ductility property of copper is used to drawn Cu into thin wires which is used for conducting electricity.
