Using Remainder Theorem, we find the remainder not doing Long Division which says when you divide a polynomial f(x) by (x - c) the remainder is f(c).

x + 2 = 0 => x = -2

f(-2) = 4(-2)^3 - 3(-2)^2 + 2(-2) - 4

f(-2) = -52

The remainder is -52.
