36. From a point on the ground the angles of elevation of the bottom
and top of a communication tower fixed on the top of a 20-m-high
building are 45° and 60° respectively. Find the height of the tower.
Take 3 = 1.7321

Hi ,

It is given that ,

√3 = 1.7321

i ) √48 = √ 4 × 4 × 3 = 4√3

ii ) √192 = √ 8 × 8 × 3 = 8√3

iii ) √75 = √ 5 × 5 × 3 = 5√3

Now ,

1/2 ( √48 ) + √192 - √75

= 1/2 × ( 4√3 ) + 8√3- 5√3

= 2√3 + 8√3 - 5√3

= 10√3 - 5√3

= 5√3

= 5 × 1.7321

= 8.6605
