36 Heads of people of a certain village can construct
120 meters of road working 6 hours daily in 8 days. Another 6
heads of people are involved in this work and the duration of
the work of each day is increased by 2 hours. Find out the
length of road to be constructed in 9 days, by using, the method
of the Rule of Three.

According the sum,

36 people were started to work.

6 person were added. so new number of workers = (36+6) 42

starting working hours was 6 hr/ day

2 hrs increased, so they have to work 8 hrs/day.

In the beginning people worked for 12 days,

after increasing heads ,people worked 9days.

there fore total number of people=

120×42/36×8/6×9/12

= 140 men
