GIVEN :-

  • 36 men can complete a piece of work in 21 days.

TO FIND :-

  • In how many days will 12 men complete the same work.

SOLUTION :-

---------------------------------------------------------------

No of Men. 36. 12.

_________________________________

No of days. 21. y.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

It is a case of inverse variation,

➳ x₁ × y₁ = x₂ × y₂

➳ 36 × 21 = 12 × y

➳ y = (36 × 21)/12

➳ y = 3 × 21

➳ y = 63

Hence in 63 days 12 men can complete the same work.

Step-by-step explanation:

  \large\mathfrak{ \underline\red{given}} : - \\ \\

  • 36 men can complete a piece of work in 21 days

  \large\mathfrak{ \underline\red{to \: find : - }} \\ \\

  • men is inversely how many days will 12 men complete the same work ?

Let the man is m and the day is d

According to the question : -

  \sf \to \: m_1 \times d_1 = m_2 \times d_2 \\ \\ </p><p> \sf \to \: 36 \times 21 = 12 \times d_2 \\ \\ \sf \to \: d_2 = \frac{36 \times 21}{12} \\ \\ \sf \to \: d_2 \: = \frac{ \cancel{36} \times 21}{ \cancel{12}} \\ \\ \sf \to \color{lime}d_2 = 63

 \sf  \underline\orange{ \therefore \color{lime} \: 63 \:  \red{days \:  will \:  12  \: men \:  complete \:  the \:  same \:  work }}
