Marks a student got = 123
Failed by = 39
Therefore, pass marks = 123+39= 162
Marks req. to pass the test = 36% of max. marks
Let the max. marks be = x
162 = 36% of x
36/100 * x = 162
9/25 *x = 162
x = 162*25/9
x = 18*25
x = 450
Therefore. max. marks = 450
Failed by = 39
Therefore, pass marks = 123+39= 162

Hey Friend ☺
Let the total marks be x
A student got 123 marks and failed by 39 marks
So the maximum marks required to pass = 123 + 39
= 162
But 36% needed to pass
So
》36 % of x = 162
》36 % × x = 162
》36/100 × x = 162
》x = 162 × 100/36
》x = 18 × 25
》x = 450
So the total marks are 450 .
Hope it helps you ..!!
