2. At present there are 2 species of squirrels though they have similarities
among them can’t perform reproduction between them.

A)the main reason for this type of condition is variation ,that make the two species totally isolated from each other that they can't reproduce with other.There can be several reason for this kind of isolation like- speciation, geographical isolation, gene flow,etc.
B) this kind of change is beneficiary for the species of squirrels:-
1) would give stability to the species of squirrel.
2) would help the squirrel to get some better survival variation.
3) and at last would help the squirrel to evolve from ancestors and become better.
