Given :

  • Number of soldiers who were standing in different rows = 3600
  • Also, every row has as many soldiers as there are rows.

To Find :

  • The number of rows.

Calculations :

Assumption: Let us assume the number of rows as 'x'

Given that,

  • Number of soldiers who were standing in different rows = 3600 soldiers.

Also,

  • Every row has as many soldiers as there are rows. Eventually, both are of same values. So, we can take it as x + x

Substituting values in the equation,

→ 3600 = x × x

→ 3600 = x²

  • Removing the exponent from x by plugging under root bracket under 3600.

→ √3600 = x

→ √60 × 60 = x

60 = x

Therefore, the number of rows is 60 rows.
