sin theta= 1/ √2

if a right angle triangle is drawn we can see opposite side is 1 and hypotenuse is √2.

so the adjacent side is

(1*1)+ x^2= √2* √2

x= 1

so tan theta= opposite side/adjacent side

=1

cos theta= adjacent side / hypotenuse

1/√2

now,

tan theta + cos theta= 1+ 1/√2

=(2+√2)/2
