Power of the bulb = 100W

Explanation:

Heating effect of electric current is given by:

When electricity passes through a conductor, thermal energy is generated in the conductor. The heating effect of an electric current will depends on three factors mainly. They are:

● The resistance R of the conductor. Greater resistance generates more heat.

● The time t during which the current flows. The longer the time, the greater the amount of heat generated

● The amount of electricity I. The greater the current, the greater the amount of heat generated.

Consequently, the heating effect produced by an electric current I through a resistance conductor R for a time t is given by H = I2Rt. This equation is called the Joule equation for electric heating.

The power of a bulb is given by

P = V \times I

V = Voltage= 200V,

Current = I =0.5 A

Then

P = 200 \times 0.5 = 100

Power of the bulb = 100W
