₹3750 amount to ₹4260 in 3 years at simple interest. Find:
1) rate of interest
2) the amount of ₹7500 in 5½ years at the same rate of interest.

Given,
Principal = P = Rs. 3750
Rate = R = ?
Time = T = 3 yrs
S.I = 4260 - 3750 = Rs. 510

1) S. I = P*R*T/100
    510 = 3750 * R * 3/100
    R = 510 * 100/3750 * 3
     R = 4.53%

2) Amount = A = Rs. 7500
Time = T = 5 1/2 yrs
Rate = R = 4.53%
S.I = P*R*T/100
     = {7500*4.53*5 1/2}  / 100
     = 15 * 453 / 4
     = 849.25

Now,
A = P + SI
   = 7500 + 849.25
   = Rs. 8349.25
