magnification produced by a plane mirror
is +1. What does this means.

Answer:

HEY Mate!!

Refractive index of a transparent medium is the ratio of speed of light in vaccum to speed of light in that medium. the refractive index has no unit as it is the ratio of two similiar quantities.

Light moves slower in glass, so glass has a higher refractive index than water. This means that light is refracted at a greater angle.

The magnification produced by a plane mirror is +1 means that the image formed is virtual, erect and of the same size as that of object.

hope it helps you....✌✌

Answer:

Let me clear it one by one...

Refractive index of a medium is the RATIO of sine of angle of incidence in the first medium to the sine of angle of refraction in the second medium.

It is a ratio of two similar measurements. So, it has NO UNIT.

A DENSER MEDIUM has a GREATER REFRACTIVE INDEX.

So, GLASS has a greater refractive index when compared to water.

The magnification is +1 means that the RATIO OF DISTANCE OF IMAGE FROM THE LENS TO THE DISTANCE OF OBJECT FROM THE LENS IS 1.

And we shall get to know that the lens in CONVEX....

Hope it helps...
