Basically this type of question solve on base of options. Because many time their is more than one logic in the series. and if we get some other logic so our answer will be wrong. But their is no option. No problem we will make our method.

Series : 39, 15, 9, 9, 11, Z

Different (1) : -24, -6, 0, +2, Y   (#Diff. between 2 numbers of above series. )

Different (2) : +18, +6, +2, X   (#Diff. between 2 numbers of above series. )

In Diff(2)

+2 × 3 = 6

+6 × 3 = 18

So, the missing term is

X × 3 =2

X = +2/3

So, Y = 2 + 2/3

Y = 8/3

So, Z = 11 + 8/3

Z = 41/3

The Missing number is 41/3.
