A 'velocity-time graph' is useful for the mapping which means the recording of the velocity of a body at different time intervals.

Answer:
Its a graph that draws velocity of an object with respect to multiple time instances. As example, say velocity is drawn along Y axis and time is put along X axis
Explanation:
Say an object starts from rest: so we get the first point on the vt graph where t=0, v=0
After say 5 sec, its velocity becomes 10 m/s. so we get the second point where t=5 and v =10
As we draw the points and connect those we get the v-t graph.
