Question:- (3a + 5)° and (2a -25)° are linear pairs. Then the value of 'a' is

Solution:-

Given they are linear pair, that's sum of their angles will make 180° as sum

So,

3a+5+2a-25=180°

5a-20=180

5a=180+20=200

a=200/5

a=40°

therefore the angles are

3a+5=3×40+5=120+5=125°

2a-25=2×40-25=80-25=55°

Let's check whether it's correct or not

3a+5+2a-25=180

125+55=180

180=180

L.H.S=R.H.S

hence verified
