3a+8b= 28 (×7)

21a +56b= 196 ....... eq no 1

7a + 10b = 22 (×3)

21a +30b= 66...........eq no 2

Using elimination method

21a+56b=196

21a+30b= 66

26b = 130

b= 5

Sub b=5 in eq 3a +8b = 28

3a +8×5 = 28

3a = 28-40

3a = -12

a= -4

Therefore a= -4 and b= 5

Answer:

a=4. b=5.

Step-by-step explanation:

(3a+8b=28)7. (7a+10b=22)3

21a+56b=196. ---Eq.1 21a+30b=66. ---Eq.2

Subtract Eq.2 from Eq.1

21a+56b=196

(-)21a+30b=66

----------------------

26b=130

b=5

Substitute the value of b in Eq.2

21a+30(5)=66

21a+ 150=66

21a=66-150

21a=84

a=4
