heya...!!!

(3cosx + 4sinx)² = 4²

= > 9cos²x + 16sin²x + 24sinx = 16-----(1)

now,

(3cosx - 4sinx) = k(say)

(3cosx - 4sinx)² = k²

=> 9cos²x + 16sin²x - 24sinxcosx = k²-------(1)

adding--(1) and --(2)

we get,

9cos²x + 16sin²x + 24sinxcosx + 9cos²x + 16sin²x - 24sinxcosx = k² + 16

=> 18cos²x + 32sin²x = k² + 16

=> 18(1 - sin²x) + 32sin²x = k² + 16

=> 18 - 18sin²x + 32sin²x = k² + 16

=> 18 - 16 + 32sin²x - 18sin²x = k²

=> 2 + 14 = k²

=> 16 = k²

=> k = 4

HENCE,

k = 4 = (3cosx - 4sinx)
