Answer:

The phrase “Unity in Diversity” very well describes India. ... Nehru ji in his book, “The Discovery of India”, wrote that India was always united in spite of several religious and cultural differences. The people of India were living with peace, with respect for each other's traditions and with unity.

Answer:

India is a land of rich diversity. Though this often causes some internal differences and squabbles, the sense of being Indian overrides and dominates the difference rising like a phoenix from the ashes of difference. What Nehru is trying to say is that the idea of‘Indian unity' is not something imposed from outside though at the first sight it may seem to be the case but he says that the ‘Indianness’, the spirit of oneness is tolerant and accommodating ; this is the spirit that helped India to attain it's diverse character
