Answer:

Solution:

Given:

3rd term of an ap = a+2d =47

9th term of an ap = a+8d = 85

change the symbols

-6d = -38

d= 38/6

d = 19/3

Now put d = 19/3 put in a+2d=47

a+2(19/3)=47

a+(38/3)=47

a=47-38/3

a= 9/3

a=3

Now we have both a and d

27th term = a+26d

3+26(19/3)

27th term=255.
