3x+1/16+2x-3/7 = x+3/8+3x-1/14
3x+1/16-x+3/8 = 3x-1/14+2x-3/7
By taking lcm on both sides
(3x+1-(x+3)2)/16 = (3x-1+2(2x-3))/14
(3x+1-2x-6)/16 = (3x-1+4x-6)/14
(x-5)/16 = (7x-7)/14
By cross multiplying
14(x-5) = 16 (7x-7)
14x-70 = 112x-112
14x-112x = -112+70
-98x = -42
x = -42/-98
x = 3/7
