To find the value of x we first take 5 to the other side of the equation and solve it further.

$\frac{3x + 1}{5} = 2 - x \\ \\ 3 x + 1 = 5(2 - x) \\ \\ 3x + 1 = 10 - 5x \\ \\ recirocating \: we \: get \\ 5x + 3x = 10 - 1 \\ \\ 8x = 9 \\ \\ x = \frac{9}{8}$

Now we put value of x in the equation to verify it :

$(3 \times \frac{9}{8}) + 1 = 5(2 - \frac{9}{8} ) \\ \\ = > \frac{27}{8} + 1 = \: 5 \times \frac{7}{8} \: \\ \\ = > \: \frac{35}{8} = \frac{35}{8}$

Hence proved LHS = RHS.
