Solution:-

 \dfrac{3x + 2}{x + 1}  = 7

We will cross multiply the terms :-

 =  > 3x + 2 = 7(x + 1)

 =  > 3x + 2 = 7x + 7

 =  > 3x - 7x = 7 - 2

 =  >  - 4x = 5

 =  > x =   - \frac{5}{4}

Hence, the value of x is -5/4

Verification:-

L.H.S

Putting the value of x

 =  \dfrac{3  \times ( - \dfrac{5}{4}) + 2 }{( -  \dfrac{5}{4}) + 1 }

 =  \dfrac{( -  \dfrac{15}{4}) + 2 }{( -  \dfrac{5}{4}) + 1 }

 =  \dfrac{  - \dfrac{15}{4}  + 2}{ -  \dfrac{5}{4} + 1 }

 =  \dfrac{ \dfrac{ - 15 + 8}{4} }{ \dfrac{ - 5 + 4}{4} }

 =  \dfrac{  - \dfrac{ 7}{4} }{ -  \dfrac{1}{4} }

 =  -  \dfrac{7}{4}  \times  - 4

 = 7

R.H.S, Already = 7

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, proved.

Given equation : \tt{ \frac{(3x + 2)}{(x + 1)}  = 7}

Cross multiplying the terms,

3x + 2 = 7( x + 1 )

Opening the brackets ( in R.H.S )

» 3x + 2 = 7x + 7

» 2 - 7 = 7x - 3x

» 4x = -5

» x = -5/4

Thus, Value of x is -5/4.
