Heya ....☺

Here's ur ans. --------------^-^

3x {}^{2} - x - 2 = 0
3x {}^{2} - 3x + 2x - 2 = 0
3x(x - 1) + 2(x - 1) = 0

(3x + 2)(x - 1) = 0
x =-2/3 , 1

Hi there !!

Given,
To factorise the expression 3x² - x - 2 by the method of splitting of middle term

we know that ,
2 numbers are to be taken in such a way that the product of the coefficient of the first and the last term is equal to the sum of coefficient of the middle term
in simple words..
3 × -2 = -6 or -3 × 2 = -6
And
-3 + 2 = -1

Therefore,
3x² - x - 2
= 3x² - 3x + 2x - 2
= 3x(x - 1) + 2(x-1)

= (x - 1)(3x + 2) [Answer]

Or By further solving by comparing so as to find the value of x , x - 1 = 0 3x + 2 = 0 x = 1 x = -2/3
