3x+2x=5x

5x is not equal to 5x^2

correction - 3x+2x=5x

shadowsabers03: But if x = 0 and x = 1, it'll be correct.
abcdt: Yes you got it right
abcdt: the value of x was not given
shadowsabers03: Yes. So x can have many values.
shadowsabers03: Real and unreal too.
shadowsabers03: But the equation will be correct when x becomes 0 and 1.
shadowsabers03: We can prove it algebraically too!
abcdt: U r grt i will follow u u also folw me.
shadowsabers03: Okay.
shadowsabers03: I've given you friend request. Shall you accept it?

3x+2x=5x^2 \\ \\ 5x=5x^2 \\ \\ x=x^2 \\ \\ x^2-x=0 \\ \\ x(x-1)=0 \\ \\ \\ \therefore\ x=0 \ \ \ ; \ \ \ x=1

So if x = 0 or x = 1, the equation will be correct.

But x is other than 0 and 1, the equation will be wrong.

Nice question this is.

Thank you. Have a nice day. :-)
