5x=3y+1 ...,......(2)

3x=2y+1

x=(2y+1)/3 ....,.(3)

now substitute the equation in equation ( 2)

5x=3y+1

5{(2y+1)/3}=3y+1

(10y+5)/3=3y+1

10y+5=9y+3

y=-2

now substitute the value of y in equation (3)

x=(2y+1)/3

x=(-4+1)/3

x=-3/3

x=-1

therefore the value of x and y are

x=-1 and y=-2
