- 2x=39-7y

- (117/2)-(21/2)y+5y=31
- (117/2)-31=(21/2)y-5y
- 55/2=(11/2)y
- cancelling 2 both side
- 55=11y
- y=55/11=5
- from iii,
- x=(39/2)-(7/2)y
- x=(39/2)-(7/2)5
- x=(39-35)/2
- x=4/2=2
- so your answer is x=2,y=5
