Elimination Method

3x+2y=2

(3x+2y) 2=6x+4y=2(2)

6x+4y=4....(1)

6x+2y=3....(2)

(-) (-) (-)

_________

2y=1

_________

y=1/2

x=1/3

Substitution Method

3x+2y=2

3x=2-2y

x=2(1-y) /3.....(1)

Substituting the same in equation (2)

6[2(1-y)]/3+2y=3

4-4y+2y=3

4-2y=3

(-2y)=(-1)

y=1/2

x=2(1-1/2) /3

x=2(1/2) /3

x=1/3

y=1/2
