Solution:

We solve the problem using Elimination Method.

The given equations are

3x + 2y = 29 ..... (i)

5x - y = 18 ..... (ii)

Multiplying (i) by 1 and (ii) by 2, we get

3x + 2y = 29

10x - 2y = 36

Adding, we get

13x = 65

or, x = 5

From (i), we get

3 (5) + 2y = 29

or, 15 + 2y = 29

or, 2y = 29 - 15

or, 2y = 14

or, y = 7

Therefore, the required solution is

x = 5, y = 7
